About Sophina Flores

Sophina is a Director, Lighting Designer, Playwright, Choreographer, Production Manager, Artistic Director, and a Technical Director for theater and dance. With a wealth of experience from all areas of production, she has a holistic approach to theater. Her work centers the intersectionality of identities as a bisexual Puerto Rican woman, and prominently features surrealist or magical realist motifs with themes of mental illness and trauma.

She is the founder of local Portland, OR dance theatre company Roots and All Theatre Ensemble, centering marginalized identities and breaking the boundaries of realism. Recent productions include Liminal and The Between Spaces. https://rootsandalltheatre.wixsite.com/mysite
